Spotting linesets and dead-hanging points:
It is possible to spot additional linesets and/or hanging points if needed. CityStage has a small quantity of extra rigging blocks and beam hangers. Please consult with the Technical Director during the advance before deciding to add any linesets or dead-hanging points to determine their feasibility.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The rigging system in the Blake Theater has a major design deficiency. The offstage hanging point for all house linsets is only 14 ft. - SR & SL ends all of the house linesets are not well supported. While support is adequate for typical legs and borders, any larger concentration of weight in these areas should be carefully considered in consultation with the T.D.
Due to the structure of the top of the stagehouse, dead-hung points should be located primarily on the Upstage/Downstage I-Beams. These are located on center, 7 ft. SR & SL of center and 14 ft. SR & SL of center. Other points may be possible but please consult the T.D.
